GWP Consultants - Evaluation. Geological, geochemical, geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations, analysis and modelling are essential elements of many projects with which GWP is concerned. This evaluation stage may either be an end in itself (e.g. when advising on the quality and quantity of mineral resources), or the starting point and framework for feasibility studies, valuations, planning applications, environmental statements, operational designs, or the provision of expert advice. GWP offers the full range of services necessary to identify, characterise and measure mineral resources at each stage of their definition, from exploration through feasibility to mine design. Throughout our evaluation work we employ sound statistical and geostatistical approaches underpinned by considerable geological expertise and experience. GWP can assist clients with: detailed reviews and interpretation of existing geological documentation and data; management, processing and integration of geochemical and other exploration data; exploration and evaluation drilling; mapping, sampling, testing and analysis; geological and ore body modelling, three-dimensional visualisation; preparation of resource and reserve estimates and statements; feasibility and due diligence studies, competent persons' statements, and the valuation of assets; forensic examinations to support expert witness services and dispute resolution work; integrated evaluation, geotechnical, hydrogeological, hydrological and environmental impact studies. GWP has successfully employed evaluation techniques and skills to investigate and model: the chemistry of limestones, clays and other raw materials used in the manufacture of cement. This work is used for reserve life calculations and quarry designs that incorporate selective recovery and working layouts to reduce downstream blending or homogenisation requirements; patterns of variation of various chemical and other quality parameters in coal and lignite and the design of in situ and production sampling programmes for verification and control purposes; geochemical structure of coal stockpiles and the determination of the calorific and monetary value of coal stocks; colour, block size and other characteristics of building stones and related quarry designs to meet market requirements or to accommodate waste.
